b. a Dutch institution for higher vocational education (HBO), or
2. people who are registered with a student skating association (SSV), or 3. people who have met the requirements described in paragraph 1 or 2, article 1, no more than one year prior to the competition.

The organizing party reserves the right to request proof if there is any doubt about the veracity of the information provided under Article 1. If the information proves to be false, this may lead to exclusion from the competition.
Article 2 – Participation outside competition
If there is enough space on the participant list, people who do not meet the requirements described under Article 1 may participate in the non-competitive competition.
Article 3 – Payment
The registration fee will be +/- €15.00 and will be settled via the relevant student skating association.
If Article 2 applies, the person(s) must pay the registration fee within 7 days of registration, with a deadline of January 28, 2023. Payment (and any additional costs) can be made to account number NL 98 RABO 0141316039, payable to ESSV Alcedo, with the reference "IUT Teamsprint Rotterdam." Cancellation is free of charge up to and including Saturday, January 21. If participants registered under Article 2 and cancel before this date, any payments will be refunded.
Article 4 – Registration
Entries will be processed in the order in which participants registered. Anyone who registers under Article 2 will be admitted after January 22, 2023. These individuals can register before the aforementioned date, and the entry fee must be paid before the competition. If it turns out that the participant cannot participate due to an error on the part of the organizing club, the entry fee will be refunded.
Article 5 – Participants
To participate in the competition, participants must register with the designated person no less than half an hour before the start of the competition. If, due to unforeseen circumstances, you are unable to arrive before that time, you can call someone from the organizers. They then have the right to decide whether or not to register the participants in question for the competition.
Article 6 – Program
The competition will be held in two different categories:
● Category A
● Category B
with the competition program:
● round 1: 3 rounds
● round 2: 3 rounds
● final: 3 rounds
The teams will be divided into these two categories. The teams, which start with three people, will ride two sets of three laps, with the leading rider eliminated after each lap. The time set will be based on the time recorded when the last rider finishes. The final spots will be based on the times set in the first two sets of three laps, with the fastest riders qualifying for the final.
Article 7 – Competition Rules
1. Starting point
a. There will be two teams per ride.
b. The start is in the middle of the straight. Team 1 starts at the 1000m finish line; team 2 starts at the starting line on the opposite side (between the 1000m starting lines).
2. Competition course
a. The narrow strip on the inside of the track will be used as the entry lane.
b. There are blocks on the red line, the line between the inner lane and the warm-up lane. The race will be held on the inner lane, along the blocks.
3. Team division
a. Competition wristbands are used to indicate the order of the riders. The team decides among themselves which rider will ride one, two, and three laps.
b. The team composition may be changed between the first and second attempts, and, where applicable, the final.
c. During the three laps, the distribution of riders may not be changed.
d. Competition armbands worn on the right arm as usual.
i. Team 1. 1st rider = no wristband; 2nd rider = white wristband; 3rd rider = blue wristband.
ii. Team 2. 1st rider = no wristband; 2nd rider = yellow wristband; 3rd rider = blue wristband.
4. Take over header
a. Taking the lead takes place on the first half of the straight, on the side where your team started. Exiting the bend, the lead rider has approximately 50 meters to move to the right and hand over the lead to the rider behind them. The lead must be taken before crossing the start/finish line.
b. Failure to change in time is grounds for disqualification.
c. After handing over the lead, the first and second riders can ride out in the outer lane.
5. Start
a. Team members may choose to start next to each other or one behind the other.
b. After a false start at the first start, the start will be cancelled and the race will be restarted.
c. In the event of a second false start, the start will not be fired and the race will continue, but the team that caused the false start will be disadvantaged afterwards.
6. Finish
a. The third rider in the team rides the final lap alone; their arrival at the finish line is the final time for the entire team.
b. If a team starts with four riders, the third and fourth riders must finish together. The fourth rider's passing counts as the finishing time for the entire team. 7. Dress Code
a. Wearing gloves is mandatory.
b. Wearing a hat or helmet is mandatory.
Article 8 – Rules of the Rotterdam Ice Rink
The ice rink can only be entered from the outside. There is no designated coach's area; coaches must stand on the straightaway near the entrance to the 400-meter track. Coaches may only be on the ice when their skaters are racing. Skaters must slow down in the entry lane. Racing bikes with Tacx wheels are not permitted due to limited space.
